Passionate about Game Design

I love Game Design, I have been reading all the books and all the articles I can about it since about 1996. Back then I was able to apply this knowledge in small educational and advertising games.

In 2005 I was lucky enough to join a pilot project between the University of Alberta and Bioware, in which we took an interdisciplinary teams of students, and we gave them the tools and training needed to make a game together with the Aurora Toolset. This was a great experience that allowed me to help students get to work together with classmates from different majors, fostering their creativity and giving them tools to make things happen.

Back in Mexico I joined the IGDA to create a local game development industry, and I often give talks and workshops in game design (from paper prototyping and board game design, to flash game making). Since then I have consulted in several game designs, and got the role of Lead Game Designer of a Wii game and a set of iPhone titles being financed by the local government to foster the growth of the industry.

In my career I have had the opportunity to take great Game Design workshops with guys like Noah Falstein, Lee Sheldon, Matthias Worch, and Walter Rotenberry.

In terms of game design I am particularly interested about social games.
